The Senate and House in Virginia recently approved marijuana resolutions that would legalize retail cannabis sales in the commonwealth. Both resolutions would establish legal, regulated cannabis sales starting 2025, though considerable differences remain in terms of licensing, timing, criminal penalties, social equity, taxes and whether growers would be allowed to grow marijuana outdoors. A recent study has revealed that cannabis use alone is not associated with an increased risk of traffic accidents. Researchers looked at data collected from emergency departments in Portland, Oregon; Sacramento, California; and Denver, Colorado; they found that self-reported rates of acute marijuana use were linked with lower car-accident odds. Marijuana Officials Want Minnesota Lawmakers to Authorize Temporary Industry Licenses

Marijuana officials in the state of Minnesota are urging lawmakers to consider amendments to licensing processes to help meet its retail cannabis sales goals.
